MAG520w3: a 4K capable Linux set-top box with HEVC support
A powerful IPTV STB that can play 4K HDR video at 60 frames per second is the MAG520w3. All current codecs, including HEVC, are supported by the device, which runs Linux.
The set-top box is capable of up to 18,400 DMIPS performance thanks to its robust hardware. It has a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU and an Amlogic S905X2 chipset. The device has 4 GB of internal storage and 1 GB of RAM.
The STB can be linked to a home theater audio system and supports Dolby Digital PlusTM eight-channel sound.
The device has a 100 Mbit/s Ethernet port or Wi-Fi connectivity to the Internet. The dual-band wireless interface has a maximum speed of 550 Mbit/s and can operate at 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
External storage devices can be attached to either of the two USB ports and used to play video on the MAG520w3 (2.0 and 3.0). Additionally, these ports can be used to connect peripherals like mice or keyboards.
